Urban Hellscape

from Drop It by Trashy

/

lyrics

Let's burn burn down this urban hellscape and let the stars come shining through. Dismantle the Chrysler building, the Trump tower, and a couple of banks to. Setting small fires to the infrastructure till it all turns into dust. Never look back thinking what could have been, 'cause everybody knows there's no future for us.

This is not a test. You're not judged on if you've done your best, not how you thought it'd be when you were older. And it's not about how you feel, ball gagged and bound behind the wheel, forever veering closer to that shoulder.

How does it feel to work your whole life and still have nothing?

It's always the same, one week out from another pay day, only ever just barely treading water. What else is there to do, aside from toil away doing what you have to, left to often wonder why even bother?

There's a 200 year old cemetery in the way of route 1. Progress means that until it's gone the job won't be done, for people building houses as monuments to their greed, confusing wants with needs.

How does it feel to work your whole life and still have nothing?
